If first impressions are any indication, one only has
to enter the lobby of this tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean facility.
A friendly receptionist who assists with registration greets the patients.
The comfortable lobby offers toys to keep children occupied as well as
plenty of reading material, television, coffee and snacks. Outside, ample
parking is available with a convenient drop-off and pick-up area.
Separated by privacy curtains, the pre-op area is spacious, brightly decorated,
and has monitors at each of its six beds. Nurses prepare and comfort the
patient while the surgeon and anesthesiologist review the procedure with
the patient. In Phase I Recovery, there are seven monitored beds including
two private recovery rooms for pediatrics where parents can stay with
their child. As the patient is revived from anesthesia and exhibits normal
vital signs, he is transferred to Phase II recovery, a section with eight
recovery lounge chairs. Patients are offered juice and provided post-op
instructions. One can read, listen to music, watch TV or visit with family
while waiting to be discharged.
